Controllability properties of discrete-spectrum Schrödinger equations

We state an approximate controllability result for the bilinear Schrödinger equation in the case in which the uncontrolled Hamiltonian has discrete non-resonant spectrum. This result applies both to bounded or unbounded domains and to the case in which the control potential is bounded or unbounded. In addition we get some controllability properties for the density matrix. Finally we show, by me...

Symplectic and multi-symplectic methods for coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations with periodic solutions

We consider for the integration of coupled nonlinear Schrödinger equations with periodic plane wave solutions a splitting method from the class of symplectic integrators and the multi-symplectic six-point scheme which is equivalent to the Preissman scheme. The numerical experiments show that both methods preserve very well the mass, energy and momentum in long-time evolution. The local errors i...

A discrete Adomian decomposition method for discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equations

We present a new discrete Adomian decomposition method to approximate the theoretical solution of discrete nonlinear Schrödinger equations. The method is examined for plane waves and for single soliton waves in case of continuous, semi– discrete and fully discrete Schrödinger equations. Several illustrative examples and Mathematica program codes are presented.

Nonlinear Functional Integrodifferential Equations in Hilbert Space

Let X be a Hilbert space and let Ω ⊂ Rn be a bounded domain with smooth boundary ∂Ω. We establish the existence and norm estimation of solutions for the parabolic partial functional integro-differential equation in X by using the fundamental solution.

Rigged Hilbert Space Approach to the Schrödinger Equation

It is shown that the natural framework for the solutions of any Schrödinger equation whose spectrum has a continuous part is the Rigged Hilbert Space rather than just the Hilbert space. The difficulties of using only the Hilbert space to handle unbounded Schrödinger Hamiltonians whose spectrum has a continuous part are disclosed. Those difficulties are overcome by using an appropriate Rigged Hi...
